Willem Offerhaus, CEO and member of the iBasis Board of Directors

Willem Offerhaus brings more than 20 years of management and international sales experience providing retail communications and information technology services in business-to-business markets. Prior to joining iBasis, he was Vice President of Sales for KPN subsidiary Getronics, a leading provider of ICT solutions, where he was also responsible for KPN’s corporate market sales. Before joining KPN in 2008, Willem worked in Paris for Orange Business Services/FT as Senior Vice President, Global Sales. Orange Business Services is active in more than 180 countries. Previously, Willem was Managing Director of Equant Netherlands, where he led the merger of Equant and Global One in the Netherlands.

Ellen Schmidt, Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Ellen W. Schmidt manages the legal affairs of iBasis and provides counsel on a wide range of issues including corporate governance and regulatory compliance. Ellen, who joined iBasis in 2007, brings more than 20 years of legal experience in the communications and information technology industry as a practitioner, in-house counsel and regulator. Before joining iBasis, she was Senior Business Attorney for AT&T where she was responsible for managing AT&T’s interconnection policy and contract negotiations, as well as various regulatory and compliance matters. Prior to joining AT&T, Ellen was the chief New England counsel for the cable company, MediaOne, where she was responsible for all legal aspects associated with the region’s telephony and internet service products.

Ellen has authored numerous articles on telecommunications law and has been a presenter and faculty member at various communications seminars. She represents iBasis as a Board Member and as Secretary of the VON Coalition, an industry group focused on advocating US regulatory policies that promote the development and growth of IP-enabled services and applications. Her professional organizations include the American Corporate Counsel Association and the Federal Communications Bar Association. Ellen received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan and holds a law degree from Washington University in St. Louis.

Roelant Lyppens, Chief Financial Officer

Roelant Lyppens is responsible for helping to shape and drive the company's business strategy, and overseeing the financial management of the company. Roelant came to iBasis from Mees Pierson, a part of Fortis Bank Nederland's Investment Bank. At Mees Pierson, Roelant held the position of Executive Director, Corporate Finance & Capital Markets with responsibility for the Telecom, Media, and Technology sector within Fortis. Prior to joining Fortis Bank, Roelant was CFO at Pan Tel Budapest (an alternative fixed line telecom operator), and previously worked in a variety of functions within the KPN finance organization, including mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance for Xantic, a KPN subsidiary. Roelant holds a Master in Business Economics from the University of Amsterdam.

Edwin van Ierland, Global Sales Officer

Edwin van Ierland oversees the company's global sales and purchase organization and is responsible for developing and managing execution of the company's worldwide sales strategies. He is also responsible for managing iBasis' retail business. Edwin brings to iBasis more than 15 years of experience in telecommunications dating back to his years in the Royal Netherlands Air Force where he held various staff and operational management positions with responsibility for communications infrastructure, operations and policies.

Prior to joining iBasis in 2007 Edwin was managing director of KPN Global Carrier Services, the international voice business of Royal KPN N.V., the national carrier of the Netherlands. Edwin was instrumental in the transaction between iBasis and Royal KPN N.V. that resulted in the merger of KPN Global Carrier Services into iBasis in October of 2007. As managing director of KPN Global Carrier Services, Edwin was responsible for growing KPN's international wholesale voice activities, with P & L accountability, including development of the innovative Mobile Matrix portfolio and the development of emerging markets. Previously, from 2000 to 2006, Edwin held positions of increasing responsibility within the management team of KPN's Carrier Services wholesale business unit during which time he was responsible for business processes and information technology and for the introduction of new products for both the fixed and mobile markets in a regulatory environment.

Prior to joining KPN, Edwin was on the management team of Schiphol Telematics, which provides voice and data services to all companies involved in aviation operations at Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands. He also spent eight years as an Air Force officer in communications and operational command and control functions in the Ministry of Defense/Royal Netherlands Air Force. Edwin graduated as an Airforce officer from the Royal Military Academy (Electronics) and has completed advanced study programs in Management, Business, and Information Systems.

Ajay Joseph, Chief Technology Officer

As Chief Technology Officer, Ajay Joseph is responsible for the technical strategy, innovation, and engineering of the iBasis Internet Telephony infrastructure. Since 1999, Ajay has lead the network architecture, systems development and migration of the global iBasis network to an all IP, switch-less architecture with iBasis' proprietary Assured Quality Routing (AQR) and Path Engine routing systems enabling iBasis to become one of the largest voice carriers on the world.

Prior to joining iBasis, Ajay was manager and architect of the IP Telecom division at GTE Internetworking responsible for new VoIP-based services. He also held senior level engineering and design positions at DeskNet Systems and NYNEX Science & Technology.

Ajay is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School. He holds Professional Engineering and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University.

Tamah Solomon Rosker, Vice President, Global Human Resources

Tamah Rosker develops and implements human resource policies and programs for iBasis, emphasizing strong employee communications and motivation as well as creative approaches to human resource development. Tamah brings to iBasis 20 years of experience working with high technology companies to develop human resource programs and address employment issues. Previously, Tamah served as Vice President Human Resources for the speech and language technology company Dragon Systems, Inc. and for Kendall Square Research, Inc. As a practicing labor and employment attorney for several years, she authored employment law articles and is a member of several professional organizations. Tamah holds a BS degree from Tufts University (magna cum laude) and a law degree from Boston College Law School where she wrote for the Uniform Commercial Code Journal.

Brad Guth, Senior Vice President, Operations

Brad Guth leads the operational activities for iBasis’ international voice and data businesses. He has over 20 years of experience in framing and pursuing strategic, commercial and operational challenges. Since 2001, Brad has helped iBasis grow by harnessing analytics and algorithms to drive market leadership. Prior to joining iBasis, Brad was a strategy consultant for several years, where he assisted clients in crafting growth strategies and pursuing business relationships and financial transactions in the communications and energy businesses. He was most recently a Principal with Oliver Wyman (formerly Mercer Management Consulting), and also held roles with Gemini Consulting and Strategic Compensation Associates. He was also a Vice President with Houston Street Exchange, an electronic wholesale energy marketplace. Brad holds a degree in economics from Harvard College and an MBA in Financial Management from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Gert‐Jan Huizer, Senior Vice President, Product Management & Marketing

As Senior Vice President Product Management and Marketing, Gert-Jan Huizer is responsible for the current and future product portfolio iBasis offers to its customers. Gert-Jan brings to iBasis more than 15 years of telecommunications experience. With his leadership, the iBasis product management team has developed the most comprehensive wholesale voice portfolio in the industry.

Prior to joining iBasis in 2007, Gert-Jan was responsible for the commercial activities of KPN Global Carrier Services, the international voice business of Royal KPN N.V., the national carrier of the Netherlands. Before that, Gert-Jan held various management positions in Business Development, Product Management, Project Management and Sales within Royal KPN N.V.

Gert-Jan holds an MSc in Business Administration from the Rotterdam School of Management and is a graduate of the Program for Executive Development of IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.
